Dataset - Manage Sources - Excel Connection

After selecting Add New Source from either method described in the Datasets - Manage Sources knowledge article, a new source screen will be displayed, select 'Excel' from this list of available connections.



After selecting Excel the following form will appear. If your report has been exported from an accounting system which we directly support, select it from the drop-down list, otherwise select none. The name of the accounting file should represent the specific client and source. In most instances, the client name is relevant. After completing the form select Add Source.



Account Numbering systems supported by way of import from Excel are: 

  • MYOB
  • Xero
  • Handi Ledger
  • APS
  • MAS
  • Attache



Import Data From Excel


After adding the Source to the Reportance file the information is imported using the import facility in the Excel add-in. See the knowledge article: Excel Data Import to learn how to use the importer.


Note: You need to create an Excel Dataset before importing your data from Excel.
